1.Introduction
Welcome to GridGather — the premier event listing service for the OpenSimulator virtual world community and the broader Hypergrid. Whether you are a venue owner looking to promote your events, a performer seeking a wider audience, or a visitor looking for something fun to do in-world, GridGather has you covered.
What is GridGather?
GridGather is a web-based platform at gridgather.net that connects event organizers with attendees across the OpenSimulator Hypergrid. It provides:
- •A public event listing directory covering all grids
- •In-world GatherPoint devices that display your venue events on a screen
- •Public Region profiles — give your OpenSim region its own page on the Hypergrid
- •The Gather Event Broadcaster (GEB) — a large display board showing all Hypergrid events
- •A wearable HUD for browsing events from anywhere in-world
- •Calendar integration, iCal export, and Hypergrid teleport links
Grid Time (SLT)
All times on GridGather are displayed in Grid Time (SLT) — Pacific Time (America/Los_Angeles). This is the universal standard for OpenSimulator events across all grids.

2.Getting Started
Creating Your Account
Visit gridgather.net and click Sign Up Free to create your account.
- 1.Enter your display name, email address, and password
- 2.Click Continue to proceed through account setup
- 3.If you are a Neverworld Grid resident, enter your avatar name for NWG verification
- 4.NWG verified residents automatically receive the NWG Free tier at no charge

Logging In
Visit gridgather.net and click Log In. Enter your email and password. If you forget your password, use the password reset link on the login page.
3.Your Dashboard
After logging in, you are taken to your Dashboard at gridgather.net/dashboard. This is your control center for managing all of your GridGather activity.
Dashboard Overview
- •Venues counter — shows how many Venues you have registered vs your tier limit
- •Regions counter — shows how many Regions you have registered vs your tier limit
- •Events counter — shows how many events you have listed vs your tier limit
- •Tier badge — shows your current subscription tier
- •NWG Verified badge — shown if your avatar is verified
My Venues
The left column shows all of your registered Venues. Each Venue card shows the venue name, region, online/offline status, and event count. Click any Venue to view its detail page.
My Events
The right column shows all of your upcoming events. Each event card shows the title, category, time, and like count. Click Edit to modify an event.
Dashboard Navigation
The user menu (click your name in the top right) provides quick access to:

4.Venues
A Venue is your event space's presence on GridGather. Each Venue gets a public venue page, a GatherPoint Key for your in-world GatherPoint device, and a listing in the Venues directory.
Registering a Venue
- 1.From your Dashboard, click + Add Venue
- 2.Enter your venue name, description, and upload a venue photo
- 3.Enter your Grid Name (e.g. Neverworld Grid)
- 4.Enter your Grid URL (e.g. hg.neverworldgrid.com:8002)
- 5.Enter your Region Name
- 6.Enter your Hop URL (e.g. hop://hg.neverworldgrid.com:8002/MyRegion/128/128/25)
- 7.Click Register Venue
Venue Detail Page
Each Venue has a public detail page at gridgather.net/venues/your-venue-slug showing venue photo, online/offline status, upcoming events, Hop URL, and bookmark button.
Venue Collaborators
Invite other GridGather users to help manage your Venue. They can post events on behalf of your venue.
- 1.Go to your Venue detail page and click the Collaborators tab
- 2.Enter the avatar name of the person you want to invite
- 3.Choose their role: Poster (can post events) or Manager (full access)
- 4.Click Invite
Editing a Venue
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and click on the Venue you want to edit
- 2.Click the Details tab
- 3.Update any fields — venue name, description, grid name, region name, or Hop URL
- 4.Click Save Changes
Deleting a Venue
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and click on the Venue you want to delete
- 2.Click the Settings tab
- 3.Scroll down to the Danger Zone section
- 4.Click Delete Venue and confirm when prompted
- 5.You will be returned to your Dashboard
5.Regions
A Region is your actual OpenSim region on the Hypergrid — and GridGather gives it a permanent public home. This is a feature unique to GridGather that you will not find anywhere else in the OpenSimulator ecosystem.
Register your region to give it a dedicated public profile page, add GatherPoints (named teleport landing spots within the region), and let the community discover, explore, and like your region — whether you host formal events there or not.
Registering a Region
- 1.From your Dashboard, click + Add Region
- 2.Upload a region photo (landscape shot recommended — 16:9 format, PNG or JPG, up to 10MB)
- 3.Enter your region name, grid, category, and rating
- 4.Enter your Hop URL for the region
- 5.Write a description — tell the community what makes your region special
- 6.Click Register Region
Adding GatherPoints
GatherPoints are named teleport landing spots within your region. Visitors can hop directly to any GatherPoint from your region's public profile page.
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and click on the Region you want to edit
- 2.Click the GatherPoints tab
- 3.Click + Add GatherPoint
- 4.Enter a label for this GatherPoint (e.g. Main Plaza, Art Gallery, Dance Floor)
- 5.Select the mode: Region (region-wide landing), Parcel (specific parcel), or Radius (proximity area)
- 6.Enter the Hop URL for this specific landing spot
- 7.Click Save
Editing a Region
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and click on the Region you want to edit
- 2.Click the Details tab
- 3.Update any fields — name, description, category, rating, or Hop URL
- 4.Click Save Changes
Deleting a Region
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and click on the Region you want to delete
- 2.Click the Settings tab
- 3.Scroll down to the Danger Zone section
- 4.Click Delete Region and confirm when prompted
Region Likes
Any logged-in GridGather user can like a region from its public profile page. Likes help surface the best destinations on the Hypergrid. Region owners can see who has liked their region — liker avatars are displayed on the region profile page.
6.Installing the GatherPoint Device In-World
The GatherPoint device is a free in-world object that brings GridGather to life at your venue. It displays upcoming events, shows live avatar counts, and lets visitors teleport to events.
Getting the GatherPoint Device
Pick up the free starter package at NWG Welcome Region or the NW Marketplace. It includes:
- •GatherPoint device (multiple design variants)
- •Gather Event Broadcaster (GEB) board
- •Updater Box
- •This instruction manual
Setting Up Your GatherPoint Device
- 1.Rez the GatherPoint device at your venue — near the entrance works great
- 2.Touch the GatherPoint device to open the menu
- 3.Select Settings from the menu
- 4.Select Enter Key from the Settings menu
- 5.Paste your GatherPoint Key from your GridGather dashboard and click Submit
- 6.The device will connect to GridGather and display ONLINE

Count Modes
To change: Touch GatherPoint device → Settings → Count Mode → Choose Parcel or Proximity → If Proximity, select radius.

7.Posting Events
Events are the heart of GridGather. Every event gets a public detail page with your flyer image, description, and a Hop URL for in-world teleporting.
Creating an Event
- 1.From your Dashboard, click + Post First Event
- 2.Upload your event flyer image (required — no blank listings!)
- 3.Enter the event title and description
- 4.Select a category (DJ Set, Live Music, Dance, Social, Roleplay, etc.)
- 5.Select your Venue (or enter location manually)
- 6.Enter the date and time in SLT (Pacific Time)
- 7.Click Publish Event
Recurring Events
Recurring events automatically calculate the next occurrence and display it across the platform.
- 1.Check the Recurring Event box when creating your event
- 2.Select your recurrence pattern: Daily, Weekly, Every 2 Weeks, or Monthly
Editing an Event
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and find the event under My Events
- 2.Click Edit on the event card
- 3.Update any details — title, description, category, date, time, or flyer image
- 4.Click Save Changes
Deleting an Event
- 1.Go to your Dashboard and find the event under My Events
- 2.Click Edit on the event card
- 3.Scroll to the bottom of the edit form
- 4.Click Delete Event and confirm when prompted
Event Visibility Windows
- •Homepage & GEB Board — Events within the next 14 days
- •GatherPoint device — Events within the next 30 days
- •Venue detail page — Events within the next 90 days
- •Calendar — All recurring occurrences within 90 days
8.The Gather Event Broadcaster (GEB)
The GEB is a large landscape display board (3m tall x 5m wide) showing upcoming events from across the entire Hypergrid. It updates automatically every 15 minutes.
Setting Up Your GEB — Public Mode
- 1.Get your Public GEB Key from gridgather.net/how-it-works
- 2.Rez your GEB board in-world
- 3.Touch the board → Settings → Enter Key
- 4.Paste your Public GEB Key and click Submit
GEB — Advanced Mode (Grid-Concentric)
Advanced tier subscribers generate a private GEB Key that displays their grid events at the TOP of the board, followed by all global events below with a divider line.
- 1.Log into your dashboard and click My GEB Keys
- 2.Click Generate New GEB Key
- 3.Enter your Grid Name and Grid URL
- 4.Copy your new private key and enter it into your GEB board

- •Two-column landscape layout showing 10 events per page
- •Category color coding: Magenta=DJ Set, Green=Live Music, Cyan=Dance, Gold=Social
- •Featured events marked with * and shown first
- •In Advanced mode, grid events shown in Light Cyan with a separator line
9.The GridGather HUD
The GridGather HUD is a wearable heads-up display that lets you browse upcoming Hypergrid events from anywhere in-world.
Wearing the HUD
- 1.Find the GridGather HUD in your inventory
- 2.Right-click it and select Wear or Add
- 3.The HUD will appear on your screen and automatically load upcoming events
Using the HUD
- •Click the GridGather logo prim to toggle the HUD open or closed
- •Click the Events panel to flip through event pages
- •Click the Control panel to open the control menu
- •Click the Account panel to open your GridGather dashboard in your browser

- •Next Page — Go to the next page of events
- •All Events / DJ Set / Live Music / Dance / Social — Filter by category
- •Teleport — Select an event to teleport to directly
- •Refresh — Reload the event list
HUD Updates
To update your HUD, pick up the new HUD from the latest starter package at NWG Welcome Region and wear the new version.
10.The Updater Box
The Updater Box updates GatherPoint devices on grids other than Neverworld Grid. NWG GatherPoint devices update automatically via the Update Server.
Who Needs the Updater Box?
- •GatherPoint device owners on grids OTHER than Neverworld Grid — NWG devices update automatically
- •HUD owners — HUDs cannot be updated remotely while worn
Using the Updater Box
- 1.Pick up the Updater Box from the latest starter package at NWG Welcome Region
- 2.Rez the Updater Box within 30 meters of your GatherPoint device
- 3.Touch the Updater Box
- 4.It will scan for nearby GridGather devices you own
- 5.A dialog will show found devices — click Update All to proceed
- 6.The Updater Box will deliver new scripts and then delete itself
11.Discovering Events
Homepage
The homepage shows upcoming events within the next 14 days. Featured events appear first. The Hottest Right Now sidebar shows venues with the most live avatars right now.
Venues & Regions
Browse all registered venues at gridgather.net/venues. Each venue page shows upcoming events, a Hop URL, and a bookmark button. Browse Regions at gridgather.net/regions — each region profile shows GatherPoints, likes, and a description of what makes it worth visiting.
Event Calendar
The calendar at gridgather.net/calendar shows all events in Daily, Weekly, or Monthly view. All times are in Grid Time (SLT).

12.Likes & Bookmarks
Liking Events
Click the heart button on any event detail page to like it. You must be logged in. Each user can like each event once. Like counts are shown on event cards and detail pages.
Liking Regions
Click the heart button on any Region profile page to like it. Region likes help surface the best destinations on the Hypergrid. Liker avatars are displayed on the region profile page so owners can see who loves their region.
Bookmarking Venues
Click the Bookmark Venue button on any venue page to save it. View all bookmarks at gridgather.net/dashboard/bookmarks. Your bookmarks page shows each saved venue with its current online status and a Copy Hop URL button.
13.Advertising on GridGather
Ads appear across all pages — Homepage, Venues, and Calendar. They rotate fairly among all active advertisers.

Creating an Ad
- 1.Go to gridgather.net/dashboard/ads and click + Create Ad
- 2.Upload your ad image (recommended: 800x450px, max 5MB)
- 3.Enter your ad title, tagline, and destination URL
- 4.Select your duration and complete payment via PayPal
14.Subscriptions & Tiers
Upgrading Your Tier
- 1.Go to gridgather.net/pricing
- 2.Choose Basic ($5/month) or Advanced ($10/month)
- 3.Click Subscribe — you must be logged in
- 4.Complete payment via PayPal
- 5.Your tier upgrades immediately after payment
Cancelling Your Subscription
Cancel at any time through your PayPal account. Access continues until end of the current billing period.
NWG Free Tier
Neverworld Grid residents get the NWG Free tier at no charge. Register and enter your NWG avatar name during signup — verification is automatic.
16.Hypergrid Integration
Available Feeds
Google Calendar
- 1.Copy: gridgather.net/api/events.ics
- 2.In Google Calendar: + Other Calendars > From URL
- 3.Paste the URL and click Add Calendar — events update automatically
17.Account Settings
Your Profile
Go to gridgather.net/dashboard/profile to update your display name, upload a profile photo, and view your NWG verification status and current tier.
Changing Your Password
Go to gridgather.net/dashboard/settings. Enter your current password, then your new password (minimum 8 characters), and confirm.
Account Deletion
Contact neverworldgrid@gmail.com. Account deletion is processed within 14 days per our data policy.

What We Collect
- •Account data — display name, email, optional avatar name/UUID
- •Event and venue data — content you submit including images
- •Usage data — page views and clicks for analytics
- •GatherPoint device data — avatar counts and heartbeat timestamps (no personal visitor data)
What We Don't Do
- •We do not sell your personal data to third parties
- •We do not serve third-party advertising
- •GatherPoint devices do not collect personally identifiable information about region visitors
19.Troubleshooting & FAQ
GatherPoint Device Issues
My GatherPoint device shows OFFLINE
- •Is the GatherPoint device rezzed and running scripts?
- •Is your GatherPoint Key entered correctly? (Touch > Settings > Enter Key)
- •Is your region HTTP connectivity working?
My GatherPoint device shows ONLINE but no avatar count
Check Count Mode (Touch → Settings → Count Mode). If using Parcel mode, make sure the device is on your parcel. If Proximity, try increasing the radius.
My venue events are not showing on the GatherPoint device
Make sure events are linked to this Venue when creating them. Ensure events are approved and active.
Event Issues
My event shows the wrong time
Always enter times in SLT (Pacific Time). Do not rely on your browser local time — enter the SLT time directly.
My recurring event is not showing as upcoming
GridGather calculates the next occurrence automatically. If today's occurrence just ended, the next one appears within a few minutes.
My event is not appearing on the homepage
The homepage shows events within the next 14 days. Events further out appear on the Calendar and venue pages (90-day window).
GEB Board Issues
GEB shows NOT CONFIGURED
Touch the board → Settings → Enter Key → paste your Public GEB Key from gridgather.net/how-it-works.
