Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 11, 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of GridGather.net ("GridGather" or "the Platform"), including accounts, profiles, posts, comments, reactions, images, chat, region and venue listings, event listings, notifications, in-world devices, and related features. By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to any community rules we post. If you do not agree, do not use GridGather.
GridGather is operated by Neverworld Grid, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. What GridGather is
GridGather is a community directory and social platform for the OpenSimulator and Hypergrid community. It lets you discover regions, venues, grids, and events; share posts and pictures on your profile and on regions you own or help run; comment on and react to posts; and see what is live across the Hypergrid right now.
A listing, post, or feature on GridGather is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee by us of any region, grid, venue, event, person, or business.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use GridGather. This is an adults-only community.
Give accurate information when you register and keep your login secure. Avatar names and pseudonyms are welcome, but impersonation is not. You are responsible for activity on your account, and you should tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
Neverworld Grid residents may verify their avatar through the ORBIT verification system, which grants the NWG plan (Gold features) at no charge for as long as the verification holds.
You may not create or use another account to get around a restriction, suspension, or ban, or let a banned person use your account.
4. Respectful conduct
Treat other members, moderators, creators, event organizers, and grid operators with respect. These rules apply everywhere on GridGather: chat, posts, comments, images, profiles, and listings. The following are not allowed:
- Insults, name-calling, bullying, harassment, stalking, intimidation, threats, or other abusive behavior.
- Hate speech, slurs, or degrading attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or similar characteristics.
- Targeted humiliation, malicious rumors, knowingly false accusations, coordinated harassment, or encouraging others to attack someone.
- Sharing someone else's private information without permission, including linking an avatar to a real-life identity, addresses, phone numbers, credentials, or private messages.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material, nonconsensual intimate content, or any sexual content involving minors.
- Scams, phishing, fraudulent promotions, deceptive links, or malware.
- Spam, repeated unwanted advertising, flooding chat or comments, or deliberately derailing discussions.
- Impersonating members, organizations, grid owners, or GridGather staff, or falsely claiming permission or affiliation.
- Copyright or trademark infringement, or promoting unlawfully copied virtual content.
- Illegal content or activity, or encouraging violence.
- Evading moderation, retaliating against people who report concerns, or abusing the reporting tools.
Honest reviews, fair criticism, and good-faith disagreement are welcome, as long as they stay on the issue and do not become personal attacks. Please keep outside disputes between people or grids out of GridGather.
5. Moderation and enforcement
GridGather is moderated. Chat, posts, comments, images, profiles, and listings may all be reviewed, and members can report content they believe breaks these Terms.
Moderators may remove or hide content, mute posts or comments (which also hides their images), close discussions, issue warnings, restrict features, suspend accounts, suspend region or venue listings, or permanently ban members. Depending on how serious a violation is, we may act without a prior warning, and we are not required to follow a fixed sequence of penalties.
Moderation does not mean every message is reviewed before it appears, and we cannot promise to catch every violation immediately.
To report a concern, use the Report option on the content or email gridgather@gmail.com, with a link and as much detail as you can. If you believe a moderation decision was a mistake, email us and explain why; we may uphold, change, or reverse it. Creating another account to get around a decision is not allowed.
6. Posts, the Main Feed, and comments
Where posts live. You can post on your own profile, and on a region you own or are an accepted collaborator on. A post always shows where it was made. Posts made on a region appear on that region's page and on the region owner's profile.
Sharing to the Main Feed. When you post, you may choose to share it to the GridGather Main Feed, which anyone can view. Main Feed shares are limited every 30 days, counted from the day your plan started: Free 3, Silver 10, Gold and NWG 30, Diamond unlimited. Unused shares do not carry over. Posts shared from a region use the region owner's shares, including posts made by collaborators. Once a post is shared to the Main Feed it cannot be un-shared; deleting the post removes it.
Deleting. You can delete your own posts and comments at any time. Deleted content is removed from public view. We may keep a record of it for as long as reasonably needed for share accounting, moderation, security, and legal purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Anyone may read the Main Feed. Commenting, reacting, and posting require an account.
GatherChat. GatherChat messages are visible to signed-in members. Moderators may delete messages and mute members who break these Terms.
7. Region and venue listings, events, and collaborators
List a region, venue, grid, business, or event only if you own it, organize it, or have permission from someone authorized to manage it.
Keep descriptions, locations, access requirements, maturity ratings, dates, and times accurate and current. Do not misrepresent attendance, ownership, availability, or affiliations.
Clearly mark adult regions and events with the correct maturity rating. Adult listings must still use non-explicit descriptions and images on GridGather; a maturity rating does not permit prohibited content.
Collaborators. Owners on eligible plans may invite other members to collaborate on a region or venue. Collaborators act under their own accounts, never the owner's: never share your password with anyone, including a collaborator or GridGather staff. Collaborators can post on the owner's behalf, and events they post at a venue count against the owner's active-event limit. The owner remains responsible for the listing. A region owner may remove a collaborator's post from their region, and doing so also ends that member's collaborator access. Collaborators may leave at any time.
Limits and recurring events. Each plan limits how many regions, venues, and active events you may list. A new listing or event that would go over your plan's limit is not listed; you are offered an upgrade instead. Recurring events run for six months and then end unless renewed.
We may adjust formatting, ask for corrections, suspend or remove misleading, inappropriate, inactive, or outdated listings. A suspended listing is hidden from the public until the issue is resolved.
Regions, events, rentals, purchases, and other transactions offered by third parties are governed by those parties' own rules. We do not operate a region or event simply because it appears on GridGather.
8. Plans, payments, and advertising
Plans and billing. GridGather offers Free, Silver ($2 a month), Gold ($3 a month), and Diamond ($30 a year) plans. Paid plans are billed through PayPal and renew automatically until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize those recurring charges. You can cancel at any time in PayPal; your plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not pro-rate or give partial refunds for early cancellation.
Allowances. Monthly allowances, such as Main Feed shares, Featured Regions, and Ad Credits, refill every 30 days from the date your plan started. Unused allowances do not carry over.
Changing plans. Moving to a lower plan does not delete anything you already have, but you cannot add more until you are under the new plan's limits. GEB keys are a Diamond feature and are switched off when a Diamond plan ends.
Spotlight ads. Ads are one-time purchases for 7, 30, or 90 days ($1.00, $3.00, and $5.00). Every ad is reviewed before it runs, and its days start when it is approved. Ads may not contain adult content, and links must point to an https://, hop://, or secondlife:// address. We may decline any ad; if we decline an ad you have paid for, we refund it in full. Once an ad has been approved and is running, it is not refundable.
Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your card or bank details. Apart from declined ads, plan fees and ad purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
We may change plan features, limits, or prices. Price changes apply from your next billing period after we give notice.
9. In-world devices: Gates and GatherPoints
Gates (for venues) and GatherPoints (for regions) are scripted objects placed in OpenSimulator regions that report to GridGather. By placing one, you confirm you have the right to place objects where it is installed.
These devices send a regular heartbeat with the number of avatars present, the device's own position in the region (used as the landing point for visitor teleport links), and technical details such as its object key and script version. They do not send the names, keys, or any other identifying information of visitors.
10. GridGather Event Broadcaster (GEB)
The GridGather Event Broadcaster is an in-world display that shows event listings from GridGather and needs a valid key from the Platform. Keys are for your own non-commercial use and may not be shared or resold.
Diamond plan members may create private GEB keys with additional display features. These keys are tied to your account and stop working if your Diamond plan ends.
11. Your content and our permission to show it
You keep ownership of what you post. You confirm you own it or have the permissions needed to post it, including permission to show identifiable people or private information.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and share your content through GridGather, and to make technical adaptations needed to run the Platform, such as resizing images, making thumbnails, building region image galleries from region posts, and formatting listings. This does not transfer ownership.
The license ends when your content is removed, except for limited copies kept in backups or retained for legal, security, dispute, or enforcement reasons, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Other members can view and link to public content. These Terms do not give anyone permission to copy, resell, or redistribute your creative work beyond what the law or your own permission allows.
12. Copyright and other rights complaints
If you believe something on GridGather infringes your rights, email gridgather@gmail.com with your contact details, a description of the work or right, the GridGather link, and an explanation. We may ask for more information and may remove or restrict the material. In appropriate cases we close the accounts of repeat infringers.
13. Privacy and public content
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and your rights.
Posts, comments, images, profiles, chat, and listings may be visible to other members and to visitors, and may be copied or indexed by others. Do not post anything you want to keep private. Authorized staff may review activity for moderation, security, and support.
14. Acceptable technical use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data without written permission.
- Attempt unauthorized access, exploit vulnerabilities, or bypass security, access controls, or rate limits.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its infrastructure.
- Send fake or manipulated data from in-world devices, or use keys you are not authorized to use.
Please report suspected security issues privately to gridgather@gmail.com.
15. Third-party services
GridGather contains links, teleport addresses, and references to other websites, grids, regions, products, and services. Those third parties run their own operations and privacy practices. We do not guarantee their safety, availability, accuracy, or quality.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
GridGather is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, permanent storage of your content, or the accuracy of listings, live counts, or other member content. Please keep your own copies of anything important. We may change, restrict, or discontinue features.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neverworld Grid, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use GridGather. Our total liability for any claim relating to these Terms or the Platform will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
18. Ending your participation
You may stop using GridGather at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing gridgather@gmail.com. When an account is closed, its posts are removed; some records may be kept as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access as described in these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue after an account closes, including content licenses for retained records, rights complaints, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, remain in effect.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms and will post the new version with an updated date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will give reasonable notice on the website or by email, unless an immediate change is needed for legal or security reasons. If you continue to use GridGather after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, please stop using the Platform and ask us to close your account.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
